Ducati Panigale V4

Form meets function

As Ducati says goodbye to the Panigale V2, a new era begins with the arrival of the Panigale V4. The seventh generation of this superbike, first introduced in 2018, was unveiled at the World Ducati Week festival in Misano with a striking new style.

Featuring the latest Desmosedici Stradale engine, a MotoGP-derived powerhouse, the Panigale V4 delivers an impressive 216 hp at 13,500 rpm and 120.9 Nm of torque. For those seeking even more power, the optional Akrapovic Exhaust system adds an extra 8 hp and reduces the bike’s weight by 6.6 kg.

With its 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, rotated backwards by 42°, MotoGP-derived Desmodromic timing, and “Twin Pulse” firing order, the Panigale V4 is more powerful, lighter, and more fuel-efficient than its predecessors.

Gone is the single-sided swingarm, now replaced by a shell-cast aluminum double-sided swingarm that reduces lateral stiffness by an impressive 37% and is 3.8 kg lighter than the previous model. This change ensures better rider feel when accelerating out of a turn.

The Panigale V4 also boasts a new chassis, symmetrical swingarm, and front frame with reduced lateral stiffness, making the bike quicker and easier to handle in any situation. Braking is delivered by new top-of-the-line Brembo Hypure calipers, 30 g lighter on each side, that bite into a 330 mm disc. Combined with the new “Race eCBS” braking system, which encourages the use of the rear brake on the circuit, the bike’s handling is further enhanced. Traction control, wheelie control, slide control, launch control, and an up/down quickshifter are all part of the package. As usual, a V4S version will also be available.

Overall, the Ducati Panigale V4 stands as a masterpiece of Italian engineering and design, blending raw performance with sophisticated technology and striking aesthetics. Whether on the racetrack or open road, the Panigale V4 is a benchmark in the world of high-performance motorcycles. No information yet on price and release date.
