Retrokit

Retrokit is a sleek, all-in-one electric conversion kit designed to turn a classic Vespa (or similar vintage scooter) into a modern, emission-free ride while preserving its original character. The system swaps out the gasoline engine with a rear electric motor rated at up to 7,000 W, and pairs that with a 2.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that replaces the fuel tank.  It requires no cutting or welding to the frame, making the conversion reversible.  The kit supports three driving modes—Eco, Drive, and Sport—and includes regenerative braking to recapture energy during deceleration. 

In the 50cc equivalent version, Retrokit is electronically capped at 45 km/h; in the 125cc equivalent version, the speed limit rises to about 80 km/h.  Peak torque is around 28 Nm delivered at 2,500 rpm.  A full charge takes approximately four hours, and in Eco mode the range can reach about 82 km (51 miles). 

The kit offers multiple options for digital displays (round, oval, rectangular) to match different classic console styles and is approved for road use under homologation in Italy—making it among the first retrofit kits with legal certification.  Pricing begins around USD 3,500 (shipping internationally available).
