New roadster on the way?

BMW has unveiled the all-new R20 Concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este show, hinting at a potential new roadster. This concept combines classic heritage with cutting-edge technology, boasting a formidable 2000cc boxer-twin engine, a step up from the R18’s 1.8-liter motor. The R20’s shorter wheelbase and sportier styling differentiate it from its cruiser predecessor, emphasizing agility and performance.
Key features include fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, ISR radial calipers, and a minimalist design that highlights the impressive power plant. With a steering angle of 62.5 degrees, similar to the S1000R, and a shorter overall length, the R20 promises an athletic ride. Despite its concept status, the R20’s polished cylinder heads and exposed drive shaft retain its classic lineage.
Expect potential production variations to include practical additions like a rear hugger or extended fender, and a broader range of color options beyond the striking “hotter than pink” showcased.
